Busi Taki
The Forest93 web series that gives every Surinamese a view of the forest: from what counts as forest to season 5, which asks politicians, business and government for their green agenda.
Busi Taki started in 2019 as a web series about nature, under the slogan zicht op het bos voor elke Surinamer, “a view of the forest for every Surinamese”. Over the years the format developed into short episodes of 8 to 12 minutes, shared through the Busi Taki platforms. ATV Networks broadcasts the seasons thanks to the CSR programme of TELESUR, and Supreme TV (channel 22.2) broadcasts them too.
Season 5: The Green Agenda
Suriname is in the middle of major change, most of all a booming offshore oil and gas industry. At the same time, the country has made national and international commitments to protect nature and biodiversity, including recognising the original guardians of the forest: its indigenous and tribal communities. And Suriname was heading for national elections in May 2025.
The question is not only what Suriname’s green agenda is, but also what the green agenda is for every other sector. Christio Wijnhard researches how politicians, the business community, the government, the judiciary and others think about keeping Suriname green, with one question: what is your green agenda for Suriname?

Busi Taki starts as a web series about nature under the slogan zicht op het bos voor elke Surinamer: “a view of the forest for every Surinamese”.
Christio's vlogs
Vlogger Christio researches a new nature topic every week. He asks experts “what is forest?” and “do our city parks count as forest?”, looks at the new Environmental Framework Law and the need for mangroves along the coast, and dives into the value of forest and satellite technology. The website busitaki.sr also publishes quarterly satellite data from Satelligence on part of Suriname's forest.
Season 5: The Green Agenda
With a booming offshore oil and gas industry, national and international commitments to protect nature, and national elections coming in May 2025, Christio asks: what is Suriname's green agenda, and what is the green agenda of every other sector?
