Over Byciel Watsaam
Byciel Watsaam is a Surinamese singer and songwriter with multiple number 1 hits to his name. In 2018 he won the prestigious Suripop composers’ competition with the song Ta Faa, the first composition in the Aucan language. The duet was sung by his wife Lycintha Watsaam-Winters and Eugene Main.
In 2020 Byciel followed the Forest93 champions academy, which trained a group of five young professionals in many aspects of nature, the environment, carbon finance and biodiversity. Every month they attended lectures by national and international professionals, who shared lessons from their own work in the environmental sector.
Byciel supported Forest93 with the campaign song Mama Sranan, and with music for other Forest93 campaign videos.
