Forest93 introduced its slogan, 93% Bos. 100% Surinaams. (93% forest, 100% Surinamese), in two steps in 2019: first by asking people what nature is worth to them, then with a festival.

The videos below give a short impression of both events.

Hoe het verliep

  1. Soft launch at the Amazonemarkt

At the Amazonemarkt, the showcase of indigenous art, culture and entrepreneurship in Paramaribo's Palm Garden during the National Indigenous Day celebrations, Forest93 set up a totem to survey visitors and introduce the slogan: what is nature worth to you, what should our national animal or tree be, and what should we do to keep 93% forest cover? Visitors also got basic facts and figures about Suriname's nature and biodiversity.

  2. Launch at the Urban Heritage & Art Festival

The campaign launched at the first Urban Heritage & Art Festival in Paramaribo on 6 and 7 September, a festival decorated entirely in a nature theme with nature activities and giveaways. Legendary reggae band Third World headlined, with Benjamin Faya and Canela de Cuba. On both days, spoken word artist Juan Pablo performed Mother Earth to open the campaign.
